The Ingham Swan is BACK!

March 2019 - The Ingham Swan re-opens 18 months after devastating fire

The Ingham Swan - Restaurant with Rooms – is back following a devastating fire in September 2017.  After 18 long months of rebuilding and refurbishment at the 14th Century Listed Building it opened its doors once again on 15th March to welcome back customers old and new. The Ingham Swan is now officially OPEN.

In keeping with the centuries-long heritage of the building, local builders and suppliers were used wherever possible and the new interiors have been sympathetically designed by Kaythryn Mazure-Hudson to show off the fabric of the building.

Managing the brand-new kitchen which they helped to design themselves is Chef Patron Daniel Smith and Head Chef Alex Clare (Norfolk Chef of the Year 2017) who rejoins The Ingham Swan after 18 months spent at The Wildebeest and Warwick St Social.

Now, the tables are laid and the stoves are lit and The Ingham Swan continues to offer fine dining in a relaxed, show-stopping setting. The team have a cast-iron commitment to seasonality, taking great pride in bringing together dishes that embrace every season, with locally-inspired menus changing daily across Lunch & Dinner Du Jour, A La Carte, Sunday lunch and Tasting Menus. The menus combine Ingham Swan favourites, brand new dishes, plus ideas and flavours from Daniel’s time on BBC2’s Great British Menu.

Also on site are 4 contemporary Rooms which have been refreshed to provide the perfect stopover offering guests the chance to explore the locality. 3 additional rooms will become available later in the year as part of The Ingham Swan’s expansion plans having acquired a cottage on the site just yards from the restaurant. The cottage conversion will be an exciting new addition to the offering.

Daniel Smith said “I invite diners to discover our award-winning restaurant located in North East Norfolk just minutes from the coast. It’s a place where I grew up, where I developed an insatiable appetite for the finest and freshest food. So, whether you are dining with us or stopping over in one of our contemporary rooms, we’ll do all we can to ensure your Ingham Swan experience is a memorable one.”

A word from the judges… “Charlie displayed professional working practices and was able to show a variety of skills, this was linked with a clear passion for producing good flavours on the plate and allowing the ingredients to showcase on each dish. His main course during the live cook-off was bursting with flavour”
